"Bo"

One of the oldest dialects has become extinct after its oldest member passes. The Great Andamanese tribe was hit by a tsunami in 2004 in India leaving its oldest member, and 85 year old to be the last one knowing the dialect. It's been around for tens of thousands of years, being one the of the first.
I thought this was interesting because some people only the "normal" languages are around, not knowing that there are tribes and remote places who have their own language that originated long ago.
Here's the link where I found this information:

  1. This is a very informative post. I never knew that this language even existed for so long too. It is true there are so many different languages in the world. Many of which you or I know of.

  2. Very interesting, yet we know so little about these disappearing tribes and cultures. I wondered why when they discovered that Boa was the last survivor, they didn't begin a project to transcribe the language, or at least capture it on video or tape. I'm sure that there are other cultures that as time moves on they become extinct, we just don't know about them. Thanks for the informative post.
